Hi Bushie, those wind turbines will just look fantastic on that very pretty coast.....

Matt, if you haven't already got a tractor, you might want to consider an old grey Fergie; relatively cheap to purchase, simple (ie easy enough to fix if something goes wrong), strong, economical, have a large 'footprint' compared to similar hp modern tractors (ie., more grip & weight spread over larger surface area reduces damage to wet/boggy paddocks), and are just great fun to drive!

Cheers,

Ash

Thanks for that Trier. There are a lot of old tractors getting around here. Local fair had some old static engines on display, one was a long-stroke single cylinder job that fired about every second. Funny to watch. Think I have some video of it.

Boggy here at the moment, but spring is starting to show ...

you still have to do something almost weekly to a flock, be it 20 or 20000

yeah, Some of the spots in Tassie have ½ decent weather in winter, especially on the east coast.
I've got a place up the Derwent valley and although we only get 15” of rain average a year, it always seemed to be overcast.
Just 100 km to the west coast, they get 3m a year.
This was due to the weather hitting the west coast and dumping most of the water before it got to my place.
If we had 4” of rain, the place would flood.

I used to wear waders in the boat just to keep warm.
I pulled out the waders out of storage the other day and they are like me, buggered.
I grew up in strahan on the west coast. 3m is over-exaggerated mate. The average rainfall in 1484mm on west coast a year but let the truth get in the way of a good yarn!!

I grew up cray fishing off the west coast for the family, you are correct in the weather hitting that coast, huge seas.

It appears that Tassie is the home of scientific research.

Tassie people mightn't have crocs but they have their share of tree-dwelling predators along the trout streams of which u have to be careful.

Its considered to be such a problem that scientific investigation by the University was commissioned to determine the extent.
