what i think is going on [ my thoughts only ] is people are putting up good stuff on here and and any tom ,dick or harry can look on here and use that info with out being a member which to some feel its not fair.
meself thinks people should be a member.
maybe we should have a poll.

I know what you mean... and I would be very unhappy if that person did the same thing and followed me all over the river Like I have said before a stern talking to followed by snapper sinkers at full pelt seems to work. Next time I see the w#nker who was following you Bear I will give him both barrels......what a tossaBEAR wrote:[Yes 2rods I agree Just before the floods came I was followed up the river by a well known fishing identity who openly said that a mate (who comes on as a guest and is a guide ) has read reports on here and past info on about a grey poly boat catchin fish on the river I might wait until the runoff is over before posting so I don't get stalked on the rivers
BEAR
I think we need to make it members who post more than 15 posts get to see all of the reports...sad times we live in but thems the breaks. It will give Matt something to do while we are all fishing

I will look at this "registered only" idea further. I might also delete all members who have zero posts to get rid of all the spies. Thanks for the feedback all.

I'm along the same lines as Dex.I only usually get a very limited time to go fishing and don't very often get to pick the best tides & times, just sort of jam it in as I go.So to get my fix I log on to enjoy every one else's exploits and stories to fill the gaps and it's great.
Hopefully over the next few months I'll be able to get out and about a bit more and have a few stories ,reports and pics to chuck on,heres hoping any way.
As for the problems Bear's had and it 's probably happened to a few of the other guys and myself (albeit along time ago) ask em politely if that dont work, tell em rudely and if all else fails 1/2 pound snapper leads will usually do the trick.
Keep up the good work

Wouldn't need rules if people did the right thing!
PSST There maybe crocodiles in the water

yes with you dex, i joined to help the guys that are just starting fishing or the ones from down south who come up for a week ,and if we get work out of it good . if im at the ramp ask ,some dont like the way i speak ,suck eggs ,but i will do my best to get you fish ,and i may get a beer out of it. but i hear this week that one member tells fishermen to follow the polly boat then get there before him the next day sinkers dont go fast enough
lots of people read the fff and dont post , got nothing to say ,thats good to. :catch:with me, if you need to know something i ask for you to ring me .matt hates that , but to change that he can come over and type the fu#&ing thing up . and ya world map is to slow for me to muckaround with, you can do that while you are here and spell check this lets just love our fishing and help if we can .
ps sorry backcast works for me........

I don't think there is any need to go blocking people out or putting restrictions on things but it would be good to see a few more reports from other members. no need to put in your secret gps marks or favorite snag, just general area ,tides and techniques are a big help to a lot of people , as Matt said any fishing report is yesterdays news anyway.
So dont be shy post it.
Cheers Flicker

Well said Geoff
You fish for a living, most of us do it for fun and your input is great
I've fished a lot of the country but the NT is a fickle place and the info on this site is helpful, not the bible.
I don't post much because i don't have much to offer this forum, but if i do i'll post
As to regulating the access of the forum, if you don't want people to read it and not respond, don't post it.
If you want to share something then i am very greatful for any hints, tips, yarns, gossip or bullshit.
Dont resent us blokes who just love a good read on here
It's all about everyone having a good time FISHING, and that's the bottom line.
Cheers

Bluboat you might be supprised... I have fished with hundreds of people and have learnt something from everyone of them... sometimes it was what not to do but good to learn anywayBluboat wrote: I don't post much because i don't have much to offer this forum, but if i do i'll post
I am always happy to try and help people catch fish and even post the odd GPS mark to help people out. I do this because I love to see people catch fish. Some people might think we are a bit "clicky" because we catch up and fish together even have the odd BBQ. Trust me we are not clicky... we have just gotten to know each other over the last year or so and we are always happy to chin wag with new or old members..
I don't know about blocking access to members but I do think people should at least join the FFF before they can read the posts and they should supply there correct details to Matt to be able to join IMHO
anyway its Matt's site and he will decide what to do

a bit clicky, a bit clicky ,yes we are ,fishing is clicky what we have is a live fishing mag . we have writers and we have readers, lets not block out the readers just because the writers have the sh#ts.. as time goes by readers think ,thats cr.p . and become writers .you are all little google stars. put 2rods, harmsey, barrabeast, in google and see what you get. leave it as it is or we will put up with six backcast on line
otherwise we are more than a bit clicky. go the little guy

Fella's I think I didn't put my thoughts into words properly before
I have no probs sharing at all after all there's enough water out there fore everyone and I have on numerous occasions shared info on locations ( to the best of my knowledge ) but I'd rather do it via PM as there's a lot of eye's hear and I really would rather only share with other users who contribute also. it's not the fact that people may find spots I fish:catch: It's more that if people know you've been catchin fish on a regular basis they are likely to try to muscle in on your spot on the river if they recognise you or your vessel this is the problem I had. I don’t think blocking reading members is the go but I will continue to share info via PM so I know that when I want to go fishin I can still get onto my fav fishin spots without big mobs of strange boats being there, hopefully.

I didn't see your post until I made the recent change Geoff - I will see how it goes under the new system and if it results in a downturn of users or general use I will change it back.
The change doesn't mean much for registered members as computers can be set to keep you signed in so you don't always have to type your name and password.
