I have a 120cm Sticker on my boat and other people seem to use the brag mat.

My simple answer to get the comp started is to write FFF on the sticker or brag mat on your boat from today and then start taken photos of fish. This makes it simple for everyone. No extra cash to fork out either.

No one can drag out old pics cause the FFF is not on the tape.

Lets get the points system worked out before the Easter brake.

Maybe we can model the points system off the Barra Nationals? it seems to work for them.

Then change the lengths slightly for other species:

Snapper
Queen's
Jew's
Trevally
Tuna
Macks
Barra
Toga
Salmon
Sails
Marlin

-ve points for Powertail

yes the bigger species will need to be seperated, few good jew and a session of queenies could win that system, a mornings work.
Its a good start though has anyone got point systems from other comps they've been in?

Why not just a biggest size comp, something like this;

Species Angler Size Date

Barramundi
Salmon
Jewfish
Queen Fish
Tuna
Spanish Mackeral
Golden Snapper
Trevally
Sail Fish
Marlin
Saratoga

Sounds like a top idea every one

I would buy one for sure

Having it over a period of time would be good so those of us that dont get out much have a chance to participate

In the interest of getting this up and running before the Easter exodus (there seems to be a bit of attention: 378 views, 22 replies).............do we just want to start off with Barra and use the Barra Classic point score?
Suggest all fish submitted to be photographed on a measuring board with the days date shown and the photo posted on this or a new thread which will start up.
I’ll keep a tally of the member and their score and update it on the post every few days or so.
A time frame for the end of the comp can be arrived at later on.

Possibly get Got One onboard for a bit of prize at the end?

We can add other species down the track once a way of scoring them has been nutted out.

What do you reckon?

How does that work. Is it taken on single largest fish or total lenght of fish over a period of time. I am jumping on a plane in a few hours, & would like to partake. So should I take a photo of all fish or only the largest.

I'm guessing only largest fish, because those that only fish occassionally would be handicapped by those that fish 2 or 3 times a week.

Darwin here I come :fishing: :catch:

Comp

Easter FFF Photo Comp

Let's keep it simple - the photos will be judged simply on merit - content, clarity and size of fish. Members will vote by poll on a series of finalists chosen by FFF Admin.

The prizes are:
1. Lure pack and Australian Satellite Map DVD
2. Pack of 4 fishing DVDs and Australian Satellite Map DVD
3. Pack of 2 fishing DVDs and Australian Satellite Map DVD

Here's the species ... I can expand the list as needed.

Barramundi
Jewfish
Salmon
Cod
Mackerel
Tuna
Queenfish
Trevally
Cobia
Tricky
Red emperor
Powertail
Saratoga
Tarpon
Mud crab

How to Enter

Just post your photo with a short description. There must be a FFF sticker somewhere in the photo.

The comp runs from now to April 21. Finalists will be announced on or about April 23. The winners will be as the votes lie on April 28.

Here's the link to the new photo comp forum ...

I'll organise better events in future. Social events and organised comps are on hold until I get public liability issues sorted.

i note that some of the guys have suggested fishing comps etc. Its a thought i have been stewing on for some time. Here what i come up with so far.

Design and sell a FFF brag mat.
Comp could be run for any time - 12 months, monthly - whatever.
Fish must be photographed on the official mat
It could be a point system
Have a thread for the comp - have a leader board??
Different species
Doesnt even have to be for prizes - just a chance to sit at the top of the leader board?

Not trying to make work for ya - guess it depends if the other guys are interested?/

Just a thought.

Was thinking about this idea and wondered about having a new post each month where members could submit photos of fish or other things of interest for the month. Then have a members poll at the end of the month to choose the winner, may end up being biggest fish smallest fish funniest photo what ever takes peoples fancy. No prizes needed just purely for fun and requires very little time to run. I would be happy to do it myself if there was enough interest.
