Bream fishing is big business
A few years ago, I went in a kayak only bream comp in Bemm River, Vic. It was freezing and blowing its guts out
Other than me, they all took it very seriously. There were several fully sponsored people and a couple of full-time pro bream/kayak fishos.
From memory, 14 fish were landed (I got 3 of them before bailing out and becoming the self-appointed camp fire controller, while the others battled the 3 degree temps)
I think the winner pulled in a massive 320mm long specimen (tongue in cheek)
They would poop themselves if they ever got onto a decent fish
