Good to see the MDF fish are spread far and wide

Nothing like exploring a bit of new country.

Went to the blue holes at Gunn Point last weekend, just for something different
saw a heap of small Barra in around the mangroves again, went and checked out a spot that I hadn't visited for a while and found some fish hanging off a snag
unfortunately we didn't get the biggest one there, had some fun though and managed a nice healthy silver barra 62cm
tasted great beer battered :-)

Had another about the same size follow the lure right up to the boat, just out of net reach and sit there looking at us in the clear water, was great.

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!

Well Finally!! I have worked hard for this little bugger. My first wild Barra in Qld. Karumba, Tinaroo, Cooktown, Port Douglas, Cairns, Flying Fish Point, Cardwell for Zip.
They have just come on in the last week here at Lucinda (Hinchinbrook). Found a wharf during the day holding tonnes of bait. Took me 3 nights of casting for the first 3 hrs of the runout.
Missed 2 better fish 2 nights ago, first spat hooks on her third jump and the second I couldn't control around a pilon. But not this little tacker. I'm back!

On a big old Berkely Swim Shad, I think that's what they were called?

Off to Townsville today with a smile on my dial.

Round 8 results, a bit late apologies. Swoffa was on the ball, but I have a big deadline down here ...
