1 week, 1 touch and 1 fish.
:bonk:
Been blowing a gail and raining. Have seen around a dozen massive barra dead on the bank; biggest around 130. Thought about sticking my lure in its mouth but the crows already had its eyes for breakfast and I didn't have any marbles in my pockets!

Well this ain't a Bong Barra but it's L/base and one of 5 caught this morning at
East pt . I lost 2 at the waters edge that would have been 50 ish the rest just rats.
I havn't had a good run there like last year and many trips for no fish sighted at all.

It went 29cm and with 10cm L/B bonus (39 points) Caught on some sort of cheap Bommer
Knock off I got from the $2 bin at the boat show.

I got this little fella whilst chasing the big boys at my local billabong early in the month but thought it wasn't worth
entering with salties in the comp this round.Caught on a bully frog.

My mate had a problem with his new solar battery charger so I offered to take him and his visiting dad for a fish. The tides were very neap on 13 aug but you have to try. We found plenty of tuna schools but found it hard to stay connected with all the usual casting lures. Even the queenies were spitting our lures. One poor little mack got landed and was bleeding so hit the esky. My mate managed a solid hook up which took his dad quit some time to land.
The old fellow was keen for a Barra so we worked a creek trolling and casting as he couldn't cast well. A few jacks and goldies were caught on the troll. It can be hard to convince some people that there is a good chance of a barra when the water is 27 degrees. But a big boof makes it so much easier. It got the blood pumping and after a few too many mistakes, like borrowing the mates rod when I got snagged. Discovered his drag is cr.p even when tightened 5 seconds into a fight in heavy cover. Glad to have my rod and lure back but only managed a 56cm fish. Looks a bit dark like a swamp dog.
Wehad to get out to avoid getting stuck. Wanted to find a bigger fish for the brag mat but didn't happen. Had the paper but was expecting better. Not bad for a neap. The family sushi night was great fun too. I swapped the barra for the tuna which I recon is a good deal.

how many is enough lures, rods and reels. Is there a magic number, considering you usually only catch 1 fish on a single lure on the one rod and reel your casting with.
