Might need to read the NT fishing regulations on how to measure a fish

How to measure fish

You should measure a fish with its mouth closed while lying it flat on a measuring device to comply with NT size limits.

For fish with a lower jaw longer than the upper jaw, like barramundi or cod, overall length is measured from the tip of the lower jaw to the middle ray of the tail fin.

For fish with an upper jaw longer than the lower jaw and with tail fin rays that appear to be the same length or concave, such as red emperor and mangrove jack, you should measure from the tip of the snout to the longest part of the tail fin.

For fish with a forked tail, like blue or king threadfin, you should measure from the longest part of the head to the fork of the tail. This is known as the fork length.

That's handy info for mangrove jacks now that there's a limit!

So I've under measured all my goldies , cool new PB's as well  :catch:

Sorry Lats but the way I read Mats rules of measure is different .
Thought if the tail was concave the length is taking from the middle .

Not having a shot mate :applause: Thats the Biggest Frikken Goldie ever posted on here.

Well done on a slam dunk Reefie.

Now just send me the GPS fix :D

All good mate. Been a while since I read those rules. I usually just try and keep up to date with local regulations

No it wasn't. I thought that if my boat is registered then I could still fish from other boats? It's no different from someone registering their boat and then catching shore based fish without a sticker in sight. What ever decision Matt comes up with is good with me

Hey Edo...GREAT harbour barra 8)

Stonker goldie Lats. You don't see many that big

Well done to all the entrants this year and some fantastic captures amongst them. I still don't understand why more fishers don't enter a FREE competition with GREAT prizes.

Cheers
