Re: FFF Seadogs 2015 -Round 5 - Tuna and Queenfish + Barra
the way its worded in the new rules its says
"3 per person and vessel limit of 1 fish over 90 cm in the Mary and Daly River Fish Management zones. Use of a spear gun to take fish no longer prohibited"
the way i read this you can only take 1 if you are in a boat.
its a non issue for me but thats the way i read it.
because when its stats a persons limit it refers to PPL (personal possion limit)
where 90cm fish are only refered to in vessel limits.
dont know if im reading this wrong,

Re: FFF Seadogs 2015 -Round 5 - Tuna and Queenfish + Barra
Probably the wrong thread but I heard it's vessel limit because you can see how many people are fishing in a vessel. But 4 blokes fishing on the barrage for example, you can't prove they are there fishing together. So each person on the barrage can take 1 fish over 90cm, but 4 blokes in a boat can only take a single fish over 90cm between them.
But I could be wrong (don't tell the wife)

The fisheries guy on Tails from the tinny said you can't keep any land Based Barra over 90. To hard to police other wise.

Read the wording again and tell me where it mentions any land based anglers limit. It Says nothing about being able to or not able to take a fish over 90cm. They omitted any wording that was supposed to limit land based anglers from taking a fish over 90cm. Or for that matter as many fish over 90cm as there bag limit allows. Would like to see someone fight it in court because I think it will get thrown out.

I am with peter so far it would be a very tough gig to take somebody to task. They dont like to loose in court. It is more to do with the wording of the act anyway not the leaflet can't prosecute on that only the act. I haven't found that section of the act yet it will need to have a better look.

It is a strange world we are living in. Yes your honor joe blogs is here before you and awl though the pamphlet we printed was a bit ambiguous but we cleared it up on face book so he is guilty as charged. Still haven't checked the act but really ...... Face book.
But any way.... its not one that would have much impact on me so thet will get it sorted I am sure . Most important thing is, top fish good effort land based and good on you for it not being an issue for you anyway with such a fish , well done, would have been a good one to have the points for

Re: FFF Seadogs 2015 -Round 5 - Tuna and Queenfish + Barra
We tried for Tuna on Monday....no luck
We did, however, manage a heap of Grassy Emperor's up to 50cm, a 46cm Red Emperor, a 95cm Cobia, a heap of small to medium cods and a few massive sharks. My 3rd only ever Cobia, so I was chuffed.

Finally managed to get something to put me on the board.
Got this little queenie at Lee Point this morning.
Hooked it on a green chrome slice.
Not huge , it went 50cm.
At least it,s not a barra
