1 of 4 small queeny's from a feeding school at the rockwall near the the naval base earlier in the month, went 72cm caught on a gillies baitfish slug, was hoping to upgrade but due to work wont get a chance for the rest of the month, at least its 72 bigger than my mack and jew.

FFF Seadogs - Round 6 - Tuna and Queenfish - July 27

Neap tides again on July 30 and 31, last chance for a tuna.

Might be a few queenfish around before then though.

There are some big tarpon and giant herring in the harbour at the moment, that can be taken with similar methods.

After a couple of fishless ventures to the harbour or Lee point chasing poxy queenies or bl..dy tuna, that only seem to be around during dead flat weather while im at work :banghead: (thanks Ponyplay :fubird:) and another trip of a thousand juvenile queenies, I finally got one of reasonable length worth a measure today. It came in at 81cm to the fork and proved that one last cast is always worth it. I had completely given up on catching a decent fish when this one struck on dark as I wound in to head for home. :D (need a emoticon for wiping the brow in relief).
