Matt,
Great idea, love it. However my boat is not real good for the Barra side of the house.

So that said, am I registering the boat or myself. Given that the Barra fishing I do is generally in a mates boat (that may not be registered), and mine is used for the bluewater stuff?

Just putting it out there.

Good point pmck12 - a FFF sticker on the tackle box will do, or on your eskie or car.

LATEST AMENDMENTS ...

Rounds will be a month long. I don't see any real reason to limit it to two weeks ... a month means more chance of getting good water levels, weather etc, plus more people will be able to fish each round because of shift commitments, holidays etc.

And as much as it would be good to have a Darwin Harbour Round, I will make it a Tidal Estuary Build-up Round, as this will allow people from across the NT to enter.

So you can fish Bynoe Harbour after all

Original rules post has been amended.

Realise its only hyperthetical but I have spent a lot of life n fishing comps. You cant stop sombody cheating if they are prone or prepared to do it. The realism is they only cheat themselves, they have to walk past the trophy each day, knowing they did the wrong thing. I wouldnt let it worry you , just have fun with the comp.\nSounds like a good idea.

Can the first 7 prizes be lures/skirts and teasers for the bill fish at number 8. Man that stuff is expensive but have to get one this year!

Timbo, I will see what I can do re skirts etc.

LATEST AMENDMENT

Grand champion will be decided from best of six of the eight rounds, this gives added flexibility and allows people who don't have billfish-suitable boats to still have equal chance of winning. Original post amended.

Also, billfish will have to photographed as best the captors can on a brag mat, with the newspaper, so the FFF judge can estimate the size.

Final rules and prizes are up, although I may add more prizes as sponsors come on board.

Rules will remain fixed unless someone spots a loophole.

Have also removed the registration deadline as people may wish to enter single rounds later in the year.

The event is free, and as you can win single rounds, you'd be nuts not to enter.

Major final rule change is that it is the best of six out of eight rounds for a shot at Grand Champ, so this gives more flexibility.

Grand Champ winner will be based on best total centimetres over six of the eight rounds, with billfish round centimetres divided by two (halved).

Refer to the first post on this thread to see the finalised rules and prizes.
