Frustrated!

Hooked a nice longtail, got him to the boat. ''wheres the net?, no matter, wheres the gaff, oh dear''. Not the easiest to get in the boat solo, went for the leader lift and PING!, must have had a nick in it, ARGH! :jester: Got a nice red throat emperor for dinner on a gulp to make up for it , but I'm stilling spewing.

Very happy that I found some Tuna spots off Melville though, first ones I've seen. Bring on tomorrow, the gaff is in!!!

Could be any 2 Tuna pictured together. - need them both on the brag mat at once!
Oh, and you wouldn't want to forget to put the paper in the shot as well... :D

Nice looking fish though!
Cheers,

Went out and chased that Tuna I lost yesterday for 2 reasons; #1 for the comp, #2 to get my favourite lure back.
Morning.JPG
Was a lucky day!

Trolled for 20 mins and then seen a bust up, first cast and bam, on. Smart enough to put the gaff in this time and boated a good long tail. No where near as chunky as the 80 from the other day, but nearly as long.

So less then an hour I decided to drop a couple of gulps down on a nearby lump on the way home. 1st drop got slammed by a good sized flag who went back, then the 2nd drop got absolutely pulverised less then half way down by a chunky snapper. The next half an hour was a fish a drop with flag coming in twice as often as the snapper. Went home a very happy boy! Probably my best solo fish ever.

Managed to bag a couple of long tails on the weekend out with the family and my bro up from Perth.

Had a ball out around the Vernons and the blue holes, no macks though unfortunately.

hopefully will be able to get a bigger one again before the end of month :-)

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!

No paper or measure, easy 90cm.
Had to walk the dog with light gear on. Good fun on the harbour.

Not far, was a great fight on light tackle especially after blowing the end runner of my little loomis on the cast , they have been turning up a little closer in this year it seems. My mate coxy caught this one earlier the same day, pretty good year on the pelagics so far.

good fish flying fisher and jimjanski, well done!

Have seen some rippers in the harbour this year, close in, also close at Lee Point as well, just havn't managed to bag a big one yet.

Plenty around though, might get out next set of neaps!!

Day 25 and an 80cm longtail is leading the Seadogs 2012 Tuna Round

I thought there would be more. You blokes must be wasting valuable tuna time pulling in lemons :|

But the poor mackie round is understandable, I am hearing it from many sources that they haven't been about in big numbers off Darwin/Dundee this year.
