Fish in the little reedy channel below the city weir, if you still are allowed too.
Chuck in loads of bread for berley, we got huge carp there ... but that was 30 years ago

Fished the Torrens near the city, where people feed bread to the birds, non-stop action on carp, some of them good size, even caught a goldfish!

Re: torrens stinks
The river is actually good way up in the hills, we used to go trout fishing there. Or at least it was OK way back then.
Same with the upper Onkaparinga and Mt Bold Reservoir.
Oh hang on, you aren't allowed to fish in Mt Bold ...

Hey Matt & Sarrge, those areas are nearly imossible to get to now. I thought I was one of the few people still alive that had fished those spots, must be showing your age.

Many 10lb plus carp out of the torrens as a kid, used to have great fun on 2kg string, they used to go like cut snakes.
If you wan't good freshwater action try the Light, Broughton or Wakefield rivers in the north or just below Strathalbyn and the Finniss down South.
Plenty of good trout, nice fat reddies and some natives up north and small trout with pleanty of reddies south. The stream above the little para reservoir is little known spot with big reddies in spring, have to jump a few fences or do the right thing and ask the owners.
