Mate firstly what's your budget? There's a whole bunch of different series ranging from 200 to 700 dollars a pop.

G Loomis = overpriced. Check out 'Live Fibre Territory' by L Wilson. F & O World in Darwin most helpful. I have a Barra 10kg, cant fault it for an all rounder.

Mate I would go to one of the many great tackle shops that are in the Darwin area.
I can't speak highly enough of Fishing and Outdoor World on Cavenagh St. They seem to be able to sell excellent quality gear at sometimes very low prices. The advice they have given me has always been top notch. I have been going to them since 1988, until recently. Talk to George I'm sure he will see you right and you will walk away with a rod that suits your fishing and budget.
I bet the same can be said for the other reputable shops as well. I notice that some have changed hands since I left the NT 18 months ago, so I can no longer speak for those ones.

Re: Which G Loomis is an all round caster/troller?
Thanks guys for the advice, ended up going into FOW and walked out with a CR724 IMX. It came down to the Aussie designed GL2 and the CR724 IMX, and as the CR724 IMX was only an extra $100 it was the winner! Tried it out Wednesday morning and 20 seconds into the first troll run I had a bazza on so it must be good, just gotta look after it alot more than a GL2...cheers
