Manap, I think that size reel might be hard to balance with rod suited for flicking soft plastics, If it's any help I use a 7' Mexican fire -8kg I think, it's designed for snapper fishing with softies but casts a medium sized rooster popper a good 80mtres with 20lb Finns, it's nice and light to use and great for queens, tuna ect.

Hey mate. I got a T-Curve Revolution Offshore 6 - 12 kg 1 piece from FOW when I got my Sustain 8000. I have used it mainly for casting both metal slices and plastics for pelagics and its a nice rod. Pretty whippy, but still feels strong. Well priced too.

Good Luck

Panam, I'm using a 7'6'' ugly 7-9kg Platinum with a TRB 80 Okuma, cast eveything a mile and not too heavy for the odd sesh offthe stones.

Make sure you never high stick with a Mexican fire rod as they are very unforgiving - you can't treat it like your ugly stick!

Mate Ive got a stella 8000 and have one of the new shimano terez rods. Jig with it, cast metals, large soft plastics and poppers very nicely. You can treat it a bit like an ugly stick as is very strong.

Good luck with the choice, Cheers Adam
