Re: Daiwa Saltiga Lever Drag 2-Speed Reels
I have the 20 size and love it more then my original salitga.
Both saltiga are smooth but the lever drag is really good for stopped bustling runs into wrecks and reefs.
Since its a dual speed it serves as an alll rounder for jigging or bottom bashing.
I have my 20 on a 1-3 pe vernom rod with 50lb will stop neally anything in darwin waters. I have also added a T-bar for comfort factor...ok bling factor
Beaudaful reel highly recommended.

not sure about the daiwa i am using a fin nor marqueasa 30t, not 2 speed, but lots of line capacity and lever drag is heavy holds plenty of 50lb braid, use for bottom bouncing down south looking foward to having a crack at the reefs jigging and bait up north soon

Mate I have a Shimano Talica 10 and it is by far the most amazing reel I have ever used. it stops fish like this one. They are a lever drag and come in a 2 speed, smoothest and most powerful drag. I cannot say enough about these reels.

Re: Daiwa Saltiga Lever Drag 2-Speed Reels
NTFizzer, I bought the Venom 3-8 pe first and loved it but was to heavy for my style of fishing.
I love to fish really light so decided to go lighter the and got a 1-3 Pe.
The 1-3 is alot more sensitive but equally as strong. I've the saltiga on full lock many times and the rod nearly bent in a circle on massive lemon sharks without it breaking.
I recently got a 1-3 pe spin with a saltiga 4000 which as awsome too.
My 3-8 PE rarely see much action nowdays.
If you think about the rod go the 1-3 Pe. The reel will sh-t itself before you break the rod.
The rep reckon he replace the rod free of charge if I every break one on fish.
