Got an arc welder here that will probably be OK if I give it a massage every 10 minutes - will bring a few fire sticks etc

may as well have a few fires buring at the same time. the better the welds the longer they stay put.

I'm bring shade, heaps of chain to string between risers and a trailer load of scrap to weld up.

we'll need a poop load of silicon tubes and some one with a winch on their 4x4.

I've got an arc welder, 9 inch grinder, consumables, PPE and a small amount of motivation, can someone post the where and when again please?

Lack of motivation is such a curse......

The steel for deck structure was delivered today. Matt Flynn took 2 trailer loads of ribbish away today as well, cheers mattski.

I'll be there from 8 with ladders etc , Uncldug and his band of merry men are comming at 12. I'll see the movers and shakers there then.

Ps someone bring cans of spray paint for signwritting. It's bad luck otherwise and we don't want this baby sinking before it gets to lee point!!

The Beasty Boyz Welding Team, with the new wreck structure they created today.

BarraBeast is planning to hang chains between the two rises, and I'm fairly sure this is to capture everyone's trolled Crazy Deeps for his collection :catch:

Look out for some sloping guttering under the chain to catch falling snapper leads so they slide down into a bucket.

Was hot work out there, but not a complaint from anyone. Shane Doevy was there from 8am until 3pm, others rolled up after work, that'll be worth some prizes for the FFF awards :fishing:

all the scoobie snacks go to Scamper, Jordan and Shane Doevy and UncleDug's crew. Matt I'm pretty sure you just stood around and took photos

every time i turned around to look at Shane he was changing to new electrodes, he was burning through em like faster than those fuses the Willey Coyote from Road Runner used.

structure is the key to a good FAD and this one might sink under it's own weight!

we'll be back to oxy out the sides above the water line.

Down there this morning, Shane Doevy was into it again.

Had a frustrating time with a Cigweld 140 I bought a while ago. What's this "duty cycle" cr.p? I used to borrow a mate's old arc welder and it weighed a tonne but would weld 3mm trodes all day and never stopped.

The Cig only seems to do 2.5mm on a high setting and keeps cutting out. Stuff that.

Hey Guys  , sorry i couldnt get back down there today , babysittin duty , the duty cycle problem can be affected by the extension lead , if plugged straight into the point it well generally run for longer . The mig idea is ok as long as you have flux core wire in it , somthing like 211 would do the job fine but as you said , as long as the boys dont get down there and do them first :naughty: Ill be in touch with beasty and see when i can get down again . PS bl..dy great job you boys did on SAT     :applause: :applause: :applause: WELL DONE

yeah it's looking like it will be the best lee point wreck yet.

we have a massive gurder to place between the 2 towers. Uncledug, might need that frener after all. but it could be lifted by the same crane we use to transport it to the tide line, then wrap some chains around it and shackle it down.

I've come up with a design for precision scuttling. 4 anchor points on the sea floor with overlappign chains. that will put that bad boy dirctly on top of the tippers.
