Mackie in North arm
Caught 2 Mackies and a dozen travallys at a secret location on the last big tides.
Great day on the water as it glass off most of the day. Struggled for goldies but found a bunch of big trickies on way back. A dozen school of long tail but didn't take any chromies.
Thanks Simmo83 for the tips.

Hi there,
And a nice fish that is.
Is there any guys working on this rig?
If yes, they must be mad at the people fishing under their noses while they work...
Have a good day,
Pecheur

There are workers up there to my knowledge but they are not drilling.Pecheur wrote:Hi there,

To the right of the stena Clyde name there is a kitchen and a varandah. This bloke come out with a bucket of scraps and long rope and bit of mono and baited hook. Throws a bit scrap in and drops the rope and instantly a big travaly gets pulled up 50m . We were spot locking close by so when he drop more scraps we threw our chromies and also hooked up.
This bloke nailed 5 big travally and dissapeared. A bit later throwing the guts out the kitchen window. Travally must have been on the lunch time menu.

You really gotta start photo shopping our the mangroves around you so no one can steal ya spot. I reckon I know where that is haha.
Will have to make the trip up that arm some time, just so I can fit in. Want to do an overnight we out there, or get there just before sun rise. Figured I'd wait about till it cools s little and the weather is more predictable.
Looks like a bit of fun, well done

Re: Mackie in North arm
We found the method that worked the best for us was head 100m in front of the rig . Drop down big chromies 80-100 g and jig wind jig and wind . It's about 45m so we got about 2 drops in per drift.Edo wrote:looks good mate, what sort of lures where you using for the mackies or were you floating pillies?
There is poop load of trevally , bat fish and monster gar (70-80cm) so floating pillies just get picked off .
Dropping baits to the bottom we found monster powertail if you get past the layer of trevally. I reckon 1-10 baits get to the bottom.
