Hey WHITEY! Its an Albino BARRA!

Post by Aaron G »

G'day Forum,

Was checking out the weekend fishing photo's on the local Defence Website.

And came across this specimen.

Only info I read was it was from the Hinchinbrook Channel in QLD.

And that it was a 'wild' barra, not an impoundment.

I thought it was pretty cool, first one ive seen.

thats crazy! Im thinking its photo shopped because I cant imagine a barra like that, I've seen an albino croc but thats just freaky.

That little bazza musta been snorting salt since he was a wee lil rat
Fishing in the top end isn't just a matter of life or death, it's much much more serious than that.

Second one from the H. Channel lately, must be fish that escaped from the barra farm during the cyclone. Can't imagine too many wild fish surviving the fingerling stage when they look brighter than a fluoro hardbody.

Speaking of which, does anyone still use the old orange, pink and yellow "fluoros"?

I guess you are refering to the nilsmaster range? If so yes. I love them especially the orange flouro at night. Smashes fish in clear fresh water.

Good during daytime in cloudy water as well. The stalwart is a favourite in those colours for big threadies. I guess it could look like a juvinile threadie and they are all canabilistic.

Looks more like a 'gator...snout looks like it's run into the back of a bus.
