Re: Hervey Bay fishing spots
I spent plenty of time catching broodstock coral trout and estuary cod off the Woodgate Artificial Reef back in the late 90s. Also saw a big school of metre Barra gathered for spawning while I was diving under the Fraser Island jetty one September. The jetty was full of families all fishing and none of them had any idea of what was right beneath them.

Interesting! Often wonder if the barra are moving south, but they were always in the Mary River and probably Great Sandy Strait. There are reports of captures from Logan River and the Gold Coast but they may be just aquarium escapees.
Plenty of threadies caught in Moreton Bay now, was unheard of 30 years ago.
