I rename thee Powertail Passage

Words hardly describe the feelings when sighting colour from a trophy powertail

I rename thee Powertail Passage

Post by uniball »

It was a fine and sunny friday afternoon and the end of work was called due to lack of interest. Chuckles was keen for a bit of fishing so we packed his boat up and hit the water. We launched from the Elizabeth river ramp and headed up to Myrmiden creek for the bottom of the tide.

We had only been working the snags for 5 mins before my reel started to scream. At first there was a thought of an annoying barra as the fish hurtled towards the surface only to go deep again and continue to take line. After a short struggle we managed to tame the wild beast. With great delight, a mighty PT was landed. Being such a beautiful specimen we released the fish to fight another day.

For the next hour, Chuckles and I caught PT hand over fist. Flicking snags, trolling banks and rockbars and even the change to rubbers produced PT's.

It is quite clear that the PT is the king of Myrmiden creek

Remind me to get Predetek to add the "PT" to the list of species on the back of the packet :catch:
