Corroboree Arvo's

Post by Ernie »

Hit Corrob the last 2 Sun arvo's with Melv, on the water aroud 3pm until dark. The first run we got fairly well reamed by the fish :bonk: only boating 2 rats out of a continuous stream of hits, only using the light stuff and weedless rubbers we got well and truly pasted by the fish (mainly me) :banghead: with some nice barra & toga hooked and lost :| but still a top arvo. Nothing like seeing a bow wave come surging out from the lillies at ya lure 8-) Met Richieboy at the ramp pulling out, nice to meet & speek to other like minded FFFer's  :drinking1:

Well looking for some redemption  we headed of again yesterday, straight to the same spot, a couple of casts and the first baz was on the deck only @52 but I was on the board :catch: and raised our hopes. Melv was next up with a nice toga and then it went quiet for a while with only the odd hit and then the viral droppsies reared they're ugly head.
Things started to pick up a bit with a few fish boofing around (mainly way back in the lillies/grass) but at least they were active.
Pelted my lure in tight along the tree line and was rewarded with a good wack and and better fish giving me some grief :fishing: but after a fiesty fight a nice 70cm swampy graced the deck, just snuck in for the comp.
8-) Not long after I was on again :catch: with a good bow wave trailing the lure through the weeds and a solid hit, and my PB toga was on the deck not long after
Things once again went quiet just before dark, with only one more rat boated and a few of those long distance release jobs :bonk:
Once again a top arvo with good mates and a few :drinking2: and plenty of wildlife getting about.
All the fish were caught on weedless rubbers in thru the lilies & weedbanks.
As for the road, I have never seen it so good  80km all the way, smooth as a babies proverbial. :drinking1: :drinking1:

Good Stuff Ernie, Thanks for the update.

Its a riiper place for scenery even if you dont manage a barra.

I am hoping to get out there in the next few weeks myself for a squizz.
