Those ships are amazing, carrying over 2000 containers below and above deck :o , watched one get unloaded in 2 days in Townsville with 2 land based gantry cranes , its crayzee man. My crew stresses over a 100 :| . Those ships draught over 12 meters out at sea for stability reasons then dumping ballast prior to going into harbours to probaly 6m  .

we have 2 options Smithy.

1. keep dreaming of sinking something this big

2. start producing home made antiship mines

I'd go the mines. A couple of those gas ships would be ideal, only make it on the way into port otherwise it could be goodbye Darwin. Maybe a couple more illegal fishing boats would be safer.
Smile, be happy & go fishing.

Work is getting in the way of my fishing.
My boss says fishing is getting in the way of my work.
I will soon fix both of our problems by quitting.

Heres some useful info from discovery channel, those gas ships the mobile atom bombs. If they were to explode it would be 3 times the size of Hiroshima.   ,

If two of those ships were on a collition course going 15kt's apparently even if they turned when the were 5 mile apart they would still hit...even in full reverse...thats hom much momentum they carry! funny how they only have a crew of 15-17 for trans-ocean travel though!

Nice. I hope Osama Bin Laden doesn't watch Discovery Channel :P

If he went fishing more often the world would be a better place. Maybe Afghanistan is a bit short on sportfish
