Best day to fish for Sailfish?

Post by Topend »

Hi,

An article about Billfishing written by Mal Miles in the June/July edition of NT Fishing and Outdoors Magazine refers to the 3rd & 4th days after the half moon.

In September 2008 for example my tide book shows the 1st quarter on the 8th, full moon on the 15th, 3rd quarter on the 22nd and new moon on the 29th. Using this example when would the 3rd & 4th days after the half moon be?

Cheers,
Topend.

Gday mate I was just revisiting the Billfish site and noticed no one had replied to your asking ,it had me stumped to as to what half moon was well Im 99% sure its the first and last quarter ie. this month the best days would be Frid. 19th and Sat. 20th (June) that way the tides are coming off neaps giving better water clarity as well I hope to get out on that Sat.if the wind is kind, cheers Max
