If it's media spotlight you're after, my daughter's a Journo on Channel 9, I'll ask if they would be interested in running a story.

thank you for your ideas's and offers FFF's, C bandit, Petto, Silver s, clive, Blinky, Doulble Haul.

I'll let you all know what the plan is in about 2-3 weeks.

It's likely I'll get the barge moved to a better location, then have all the items that will form the structure delivered to the one site. Then it's a matter of plugging a couple of small holes, installing the scuttling plugs, arranging the structure on deck(here's where the artists amoung us can shine), secure the lot with welds, chain and cables.

We all know a fad is not complete without a BBQ, a mate has donated one for the cause. 8-)

FAD # 4, chunkier, uglier and more fishy then the rest!

Hey beastie, just a question seeing as i never got a chance to ask any of the boys at work. But whats the go with the area where the dumb barge is? its all fenced off, Perkins still own that? I went for a wander late a night to have a flick in the costal area from the international, and those pilons were fenced off along witht the barge that i wanted to have a look at to. Alot of childhood memories there of catching barra when the old boy worked for perkins, now i cant fish it on my time off.

the barge is at Francis Bay marine and they have a huge dog behind the fence

access, when we start working on it will be organised and cleared with the owner in advance. Just waiting for a percentage of the funds from the old boys in the Wedding Cake

then were good to go. :surf: so get that 9inch grinder out and have it ready

Hey BB, just a thought, if the barge is still sound enough.....

With all the other bits of FAD you have lined up, would it be a good idea to keep the barge operational for transporting them, and future donations, to various sites and dropping them off as an ongoing project???

ThunderBirds are GO! We have the financial backing to get this project off the ground(and onto the bottom of ocean) 8-)

The barge has deteriorated since I first saw it 12 months ago. I'm looking at borrowing a pair of Yokohama's from a (ahemm) mate of mine)

Stay tuned the wheels are turning! there are a few options for safe delivery to Lee Point.

yep that's a great idea, but not this particular barge! it's a one way trip for her. but at the same time the condition of it will make an excellent reef. as the deck is very rusted, it will provide many a hidey hole for fish to hang out rather than just being a flat surface. the remainder of the barge has thick sections of steel that will be there forever to support what we put on top.

I have an old A frame at work, steel that can be welded on.

Count me in for a working B and sinking.

Hi Guys,
The truck is still available on most weekends but I will be away from the 20th to 30th Dec. If this is happening soon then it will have to be next weekend otherwise in the new year.
Smile, be happy & go fishing.

Work is getting in the way of my fishing.
My boss says fishing is getting in the way of my work.
I will soon fix both of our problems by quitting.
