Todays Trout Trip

They aren't barramundi, but there's something great about the speckled fish ...

Todays Trout Trip

Post by Kenty »

Caught 5 trout on small hard bodied lures and lost two more fish. One on a snag and the other just jumped off. :banghead:
For some reason I look half asleep in the photo?
Maybe it was the long walk in?

Yeah, it's a Brown Trout.
It had a pure black stomach that one. Strange?
They come in all sorts of colours, the others caught that day had purple hues along their bodies. Great looking fish.

The black stomach is a pre spawning thing Kenty, which is a bit strange considering it's July...late spawner I guess.

BEAUTIFUL, especially if they have been scoffing crustaceans and have deep orange flesh.

Nothing beats a properly done smoked Brown Trout!
