was out at the East last weekend chasing some big barra... it was quiet on the Barra front, but the powertails were on the chew...
i was bouncing a 6inch storm with a stinger in the color change at 2nd Magela looking for a barra when i got crunched... the tension was peeling off the reel we all thought that it was a solid barra... so the pick was pulled and off we went on the chase.... about 8 -10 minutes later with no jump we were getting suspicious and out of the iced coffee colored water she came... a solid bronze powertail.. a bit devistated at the outcome but a beauty of a fight we headed back to the mouth and re-anchored. Not two more casts later as my rubber was sinking i felt my rubber get inhaled .. "its a barra i am sure of it i said... it chomped it on the sink"... this time the powertail call was made and did battle for a length of time slowly gaining line only to lose more... in time i got it to the side of the boat and there it was even bigger... my biggest PT to date.. weighing it up it pushed 23lbs.. a beast..
