I use that ramp quite abit. It gets rocky at the bottom of the ramp but even the lows over the weekend you would be able to get in and out an hour and a half either side of the low and ive got a 5.2m. Ive never tried right on the low. It gets abit shallow in that area on these lows as well so keep an eye out. Im going to have a run on sunday I think, if all goes to plan. I'll see if I can actually catch something worth telling anyone about.

That place is a minefield of rocks on a low spring tide. You can move around a bit but go slow. Rule of the thumb if you go downstream of the ramp stick to the left hand side.

The bottom third of this ramp can be quite slippery. I have had a few moments there launching and retrieving a 4 mtr tinnie behind my 2WD ute. Got stock towards the bottom one day and couldn’t get enough traction to pull the boat up. Luckily a guy came along in a 4WD and gave me a tow up. Also had the ute slide (not roll) back about a metre while launching which was a bit scary. I was behind the ute about to release the boat from the trailer, nearly run myself over. I play if safe these days and try and use the ramp only when the water covers the bottom third.
Having said that, it’s a great place to fish….

Yes it is a great place to fish in a tinny and when its windy, its on the Blackmore River just south of Haycock Reach. We used to hammer it in the late nineties, fish mainly the first creek left of the boat ramp. The second one is Berry creek whicn is fed from Berry Springs.

The creeks hold fish above 2M of water as they drain from the rocky areas on the big springs so the main river holes are probably the go then. We used to fish there just after the wet and early dry when the tides are about 2-3 M in the middle of the day. The creeks are especially good for jacks and snapper in the rocky holes then, always a couple of hours before after the low tide.

I have been told that the mouth of the creek directly across the middle of Haycock Reach on the left hand side fishes well for barra and salmon with live baits up on the edges on the incoming tide. Haven't fished that spot myself but that might be the go on the weekends tides.

Let us know how you go.

Dumped in right on the bottom of the low, Bent hell out if the mud gards getting in.... Thats fishing in the NT. Did a lot of lure work for one Trevor.. Barra were not playing the same game as us...

Dropped some baits and landed a nice Jewie 102cm, Real nice surprise in 3.5 meters of water..

Cheers Jamie..

good work on the jewie. barras can be abit hit and miss for me up there. small shallow runners do the best for me around the creek mouths on the run out. usually pull up at the creeks for 5 mins and see if they are feeding, if not move onto the next. nice and close to home but goin for an afternoon run up the adelaide soon.
