I bought it the other day and was having a quick flick through and saw ME in it  and a story from the FFF. (Page 6) bl..dy marvelous. Ive now got to buy several to send down south

Apart from me  , the mag is fantastic Matt congrats, initially I thought maybe a little expensive but I'm happy to dish up a tener each month as very informative and completely relevent to us in the NT. Cant believe it wasnt done sooner.

Now Ive just got to 6 pages to move to make the cover

I got my copy today. I reckon it is a good read and like Adam says happy to pay the extra to get a magazine without having to sift through the stories of bass, bream and trout as per usual. I am still in shock however about our fellow forum member coming out of the closet so to speak.

Got a copy today and it looks great :applause: . It felt a little thin but it has next to no adds and heaps of good reading, well done Matt  . Only thing that I noticed was a lot of the photos's were quite small, just a thought. The local news angency in Katherine must like it, they have copies in the front window, on the shelves as you go in the door, stacked on the counter and in the usual fishing magazine rack (good advertising for ya). Hope it gets a following as it's great to have a mag dedicated to the NT.

:drinking1:  Jack..

Gee between the NT mag, new Mo tackle and The Barramundi year books, I have a huge dilemma in choosing which one to read :banghead: Oh well just toss a coin

Had a good read of it last night and found it to be a very well put together mag... I don't think it's light on when compared to other fishing mags as every article holds something for NT fishos and its great to sit down and read and not have to flick through articles on surf fishing for australian salmon and endless ads. Price wise it's fine, Modern Fishing and Saltwater Fish all retail for around 8 bucks anyway.

Maybe some more product testing could be useful...

possibly a FFF fisho being given a selection of lures/jigs/plastics to try in any situation they feel it may work and review them as to what situation they worked best, species with pics of catches etc?

Not sure if you couldd get sponsors to supply rods/reels for testing but the same could apply... Same goes with boats but yeh, the longest journey starts with the first step.

Any NT specific produst testing would be positive for an NT specific mag..

I will do some boat tests and hopefully get two or three FFF members in for each test (depending on the size of the boat) to give their opinions.

Also, I need paid columnists for each region in the NT ... eg Katherine, Borroloola, Nhulunbuy, the WA border etc - it would require a bit of local news, couple of pix etc

Also need paid reports from the big comps because I can't visit them all myself. So if you are in the Nationals, Classic, Timber Creek events etc and can write a report let me know. It will require that you get the daily and final results from the club and write a brief day-by-day account with the fishing conditions, highlights, funny moments etc

Can also pay extra for individual photos from comps of sinking boats, hooks in ears and other minor disasters. Especially if it is a prominent southern fishing personality or some other celebrity :naughty:

Let me know if you or anyone you know can do this.

Plus detailed location articles, particularly individual Darwin and Bynoe Harbour creeks.

Another idea

My favourite part of Sporting Shooter is always "ask the guru" where Nick Harvey answers questions from readers.... Though I've never seen it in a fishing mag, it could be a great section.

Could be broken into ask the Barra guru? (BEAR, BC, Dick etc) and ask the reefie guru (2rods, Codfather etc) and ask the pelagic guru (??? Doevy's, Matt?) or ask the tackle/boat specialist.... or it could be ask the panel and each response could be listed.... So much knowldedge on here that could be tapped in a Q and A section that would make interesting reading.... The q's could be posted in a section on FFF to save people sending them in and a selection could be printed....

Just an idea...

Sounds good Ray, I'm onto it!

And Adam, the beer column is the editor's job

Besides there is only one beer for fishing, XXXX Gold.

Matt,

Got your new mag and love it!

Note that you have a PO Box on page 34 for Trophy photos.

Is there any chance of being able to send pics to an email address as another option.

P.s - If ever organising a session at the Daly let me know. (Fish or a Hunt)
