Yellow waters-Home billabong 3 dayer in mid October

Post by Kevin Kevinson »

Been thinking a fair bit about a 3 day 2 nighter out at cooinda in mid october fishing both Home and YW... :???: :???:

I normally am the first person to put my hand up for roughing it a bit, but early morning sessions on the water, followed by midday hamburger and beers by the pool followed by an evening session on the billabong in the cool sounds like the ticket to me.

an aircon donger to retire to of a night for $60 is also the ticket.

Another big plus is 50m from Home billabong, and 500m to YW...too easy

Wondering two things,

1. anyone interested in throwing some ideas around and taking a few boats out there
2. any tips on moon phases, types of fishing and strategies for mid-oct fishing out there. Love to hear some of your previous trips out there.

I guess the other options when we are out there is to have a day fishing the east, sandy billabong etc too...

over to you guys....
Cheers

and then you nod your head like your saying YES to every beat...

Mid October hey? Pococks/West Alligator Head should be open by then.

Count me in. Unless in coincides with a build up Flat Top trip.
Don't wanna be a flat water hero.

Kevin,
I'd be keen to be involved depending on the dates and work commitments, but if the stars align...I'm there

Same here, if things line up I’ll be there….with bells on!

I’ve been doing the YW pilgrimage for more years than I can remember, 2nd weekend in November every year, October should be good as well.

From past experience, night fishing is the go…if you can pry yourself from the bourbon and swimming pool. Have had the best results on dark nights, the blacker the better, usually don’t hit the water till after 9pm……………trolling black lures up and down Pandanus Alley, throwing rubbers at the snags at Barra Junction……..not for the skittish although as the swampdogs are on the move that time of the year.

The new moon is Thursday 11th.
