Caught off Dundee, never seen this one before it had some wicked teeth...

Yep I call them a grinner fish as well... Down south they eat them but then again they eat sharks and mullet
There are a few similar looking fish called,gobby (SP) and a star gaizer but they are more in the mud and not on the reef.
