New to darwin blue water

Post by New-to-nt »

Hi all,

Im new to darwin blue water fishing and am having some troubles getting onto decent fish, have caught a few but nothing worthy... not after anyone's secret spots but more some guidance on areas times tides to target, happy to be close or out wider
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Lee Point is great - spanish, spotted and grey macks, brassy trevs, queenfish, with jewish on the wrecks.

Always the chance of occasional reef fish too - cod, reddies, snapper, tuskies, coral trout.

Anchor and berley for macks. Catch the local gar in berley trail for bait. Fish turn of tide hard.

The inner shallow reef edge holds macks too, as well as the artificial reefs.

Also longtail tuna schools in this area.

Despite being close to the city it is still a fishy area, probably because of its location outside Shoal Bay.
