Grab yourself a copy of Fish Finder. I don’t do a lot of bottom bouncing however when I do I always refer to Fish Finder when planning a trip. Well worth what ever it costs these days.

Great advice Marro
If you are new to boating and the tides are small you could try the rough bottom off Larrakeyah, as it is an easy trip near Darwin. Concentrate fishing on the turn of the tide. Big tides make bottom fishing difficult off Darwin but the fish still bite well on the small period of slack water.
This time of year though the harbour barra really start turning on, you probably should be chasing them, get yourself a cast net and learn to catch bait, or fish lures. You can chase barra on big tides but must plan your trips carefully.
