Sampan/Tommy virgins march 2022

Post by hobbsy »

Howdy,
We've been in Darwin for 5 years & never been to shady camp. We now have a vessel that's comfortable enough to sleep on so decided to get out there.
We left Thurday & returned Sunday with the Idea of fishing the mouth of Sampan Thursday arvo and Friday to beat the weekend crowds then go to Tommycut for Saturday & Sunday. We ended up in in Tommycut Friday arvo as Sampan was too crowded on Friday.
We fished the reef on our way to Tommycut for 2x 105M jewies. We couldn't pull a fish from Sampan despite the amount of fish on the sounder, they just would not bite.
We caught a few in Tommycut, with 2x going 86cm.
Camped in a small creek as our anchor would not hold in the main streams and aids in dodging storms.
would love to add more pics but it's a little tedious on a PC

Insanity is a good place to hide from reality!

It is not how long the fish is but how long you have fished & how long you've wished.......

Nice. How were the bugs overnight while sleeping?

suprisingly good. We did have the thermocells out before going to bed but not on all the time. They were pretty tame.

Looks like a comfortable set up you've got there. Tight lines.
