Yep those narrow creeks that are flowing hard as they drain off the floodplains are dangerous, pushing up stream is easy, turning around is a different game, boats swamp very quickly when they are broadside to the water flow.
The chopper photos shows them on a sandy bank with flood plains behind them, looks like country well below the Moon Billabong seasonal fishing closure line. They were probably only sightseeing, the Covid masks came in handy for the photo shoot.

When the tide turns it goes out even faster and can get shallow with obstacles.
