Has the NT govt opened its borders?

Qld govt has been spreading "good cheer" in regional qld since the shock Fed election last year. Only a cynic would think that there must be a state election on the horizon.

However, they're coming from a long way back.

Wish we could get some of the rain that u guys have been getting in Tas.

Spring dam actually dried out in June, first time. Now it is full. Soil was very dry.

Imagine how residents of Vic and southern NSW must be feeling this morning. Poor buggers.

Melbournians have 6 more weeks of lockdowns at least. NSW/Vic border residents probably more with border travel restrictions.

Its not their fault that the have the "Donald Trump of the south/w pacific" running the shop (although I guess that if you elect him then you must accept at least some of the blame).

The Vic environment changed "overnight" from a camelot community where Bill Hayden's "Drover's Dog" could probably run it to a full scale emergency situation where a different kind of leader was needed and "Chairman Dan" simply isn't somebody for that job. He's still trying to bludgeon people into doing things.

He isn't a John Curtin.

Anyway, I empathise with Vic residents like I do with Hong Kong residents at a time when the immediate future appears pretty bleak and they need some support. Too many serious things happening at once sure brings its share of stress to any community.

There are a lot of "2020" jokes out there, dark humour.

Following what's been happening in NSW/Vic and "stow-aways" trying to get to SA/WA by train, the lesson is clear.

Do NOT open the NT borders.

Qld has banned some residents of Sydney suburbs and is intoducing jail sentences for false declarations.

I will not be at all surprised to see Qld borders closed again today/tomorrow.

Given the the studies coming out confirming contagious this thing is (and this came out very early anyway, as did the importance/effectiveness of masks) there will be flare-ups.

A lot of vaccines already in 'advanced stages' apparently, so there's that ...

We have now called the greater Sydney Area as a hot spot.
Makes sense to me. If you live in broken hill with nothing with in coo-wee, seems crazy to be locking them out.
Anywhere that has had community spread within the last month should be a hot spot.
