It’s been a good week up the creeks and rivers for me.

A couple of nice fish up to 93 with a few nice keepers in the 60’s sitting in the timber. Jerk baits cranked deep in the sticks with long pauses getting the eats on the smaller fish.
Zerek fish traps jigged deep tempting the bigger fish. No troubles finding the bigger fish at this time of the year as they tend to school up nicely. Just gotta present what’s right at the time.

On the blue close to home lots of small Mack’s, and tuna around early.

Enjoyed a stellar run on Jewies early in the dry finding large schools sitting on isolated structure and taking softies with vigour. Fish in the 110-120 range going nuts over the change of tide. Often heart in mouth stuff first 30 secs.

All in all a great dry season for me so far as I’ve been locked up here due to COVID restrictions. Stoked to see borders opening so I can get back home to family in Brissy.

I don’t often post on the site anymore partially due to the fact my time up here is limited to work only but I still manage to get out with one or two of the regular contributors on here when I can.

Good Luck everyone.

Richie

Ha, not luck, RB is one of the small group who catch all the fish.

Great photos there, looks like you haven't let the dry wet seasons slow you down.

Cheers Matt. It’s been great to spend sometime backup this way.

However, you’re too generous. Definitely some luck involved there mate. I just get luckier than some I reckon. ;)

Nice catch cobba,

An old fella once told me.

"Luck is what happens when opportunity meets preparedness" A lesson to be learned there for all fisho's.

Cheers Jerro

Cheers guys.

Yeh Flickin, majority of my casting or jigging is on spin gear nowadays. I’m running 24lb broad and 50lb leader on an FG knot. The PE braids are great with knot strength and never let me down.

Jewies I do run 50lb braid but that’s mainly cause I’m running 50-60lb shock and need that knot strength.

The only casting gear I use is for trolling or timber work and it’s always 40lb braid with leaders to suit the situation. Each to their own, as long as u land the fish I reckon.
