WTB. chasing a 54" spot lock
Time to upgrade the old pedal/remote minnkota and get an upgrade to an anchor/spotlock jobby. .Anyone looking to upgrade? Also chasing ideas on new vs 2nd hand. Local or interstate purchase? Not fussed with either brand.

ya, its been tough looking for one. I've been looking for a month now. a guy had an 80lb Minn Kota on Gumtree yday, but i dont want the weight or added cost of more batteries. I've already for a battery to run a 54/55lb.

Be wary of any second hand gear as it might not have the upgraded extra digital compass in the head. Therefore the boat will move around more as its move-around radius is a lot bigger than one with the extra digital compass.
Minn Kota was the last to fit the extra compass for spot-lock but now that they have, newer ones are much on a par with the Motor Guide's anchor function.
Do some research on when the MK spotlock function was upgraded.
Be sure to use a real deep cycle battery and charging arrangement though. There's plenty of pretend ones around.
