Daly metrey
Took a trip to the Daly last week for a spot of land based fishing with the daughter. Stayed over night in a cabin at the Daly River Wildlife & Adventure Lodge. Pool, comfortable bed and aircon was a blessing after a few hours flicking in the afternoon. Only had one bump in the afternoon on a six inch Wedgie but saw a small fish caught upstream a bit. Woke in the morning to the sound of rain and thunder and thought might give it a miss and just head back home. The storm passed and the daughter was keen so after a quick coffee and muesli headed back to the same spot. Had 3 or 4 flicks and noticed some nervous bait flicking around about 10 metres downstream in an eddy. Moved down and on the fourth cast had a hit. Hooked up and a decent size fish jumped and did a bit of a headshake. Few small runs and a dart into the bank required some manouvering and then the Barra started coming in on her side. Grabbed the lip grips and had her secured. A few quick photos and a check on the brag mat and was surprised to see it go 107......Carried her back down the bank and nervously swam her to get her going again. A kick and a bite down and she was away.
