East arm ramp

Post by john d »

Finally managed to get back on the water last sat.
Trying to get the first 20 hrs up on a new motor to get it run in and first service.
managed that on sat only took me over 4 months to achieve.
Work sux.
Launched early at east arm at high tide and noticed half the pontoon was missing.
Looks like one of the support colums is gone
Ran around to fish reef again to get some hrs up.
Nice in the harbor but from charles to fish reef was lumpy as hell.
Found the usual big schools of queenies and trevs there and had a ball catching them casting to them fly rod and trawling them up.
My deckie had a horror day with a broken runner on one rod straight up then snapping a second rod on a verry energetic trev. :x
after a few hrs headed back to charles point and found an area that was loaded with fish on the sounder.
Got only small stuff like okk okk,s and stripes for a while then managed a nice salmon and my deckie got a 50 cm goldie which he promptly droped over the back of the boat. :bonk:
Luckly for him I was able to reach over and grab it as it was stuck behind the engine.
Tried to claim it as my fish but lost that argument.
Ran back to east arm about an hr before the low and had just enough waster to get out.
Appoligies for the fly pic deckie was having a day from hell couldnt even get a pic right.

My deckie was lucky he dropped the goldie before lunch.
