That is tough going for 52 boats.

The nats have one spot going as some one had to pull out.
I was thinking who would want to fish it now. But it’s probably the best chance of winning you will ever have. Only need to jag one good fish and you will pretty much go right towards the top.
Would be a long 5 days tho.

The mob who fished this comp certainly showed determination, the "mental strength" to keep trying would have been a great asset in the conditions.
You'd recon the next comp will need even greater guts, or some other distraction...

Some people say that saltwater barra comps would be more reliable, say Darwin / Bynoe Harbor, Shoal Bay comp over a tidal phase would produce fish with a certainty of water conditions and lots of area to fish.

Tiz true, and why some people like the Build-up, bit more predictable.

Not sure about mental strength, but we did have our fair share of ups and downs which was mainly the esky lid......done a gear box on orientation day so missed first day of the comp but fished it consistently for the remaining 4 days with donuts being the main species targeted.....

It was a great comp, congrats to all the competitors. It was hard work on the water watching them have to fish with luck and not skill for a change.

Congrats to Ty for scooping the pool with a single fish.

"It was a great comp"

217 fish divided by 156 fisho's = 1.4 fish ea.

7800 hours of fishing effort = 1 fish every 35 hours.

If those stats make a "great comp" it certainly doesn't take much to reach greatness levels.

Surely the hype about camaraderie and atmosphere are poor substitutes for not catching fish.
