Dragonflies

An omen that the wet season might be over.

Millions of dragonflies at Middle Point and Fogg Dam this morning.

I am told it was feeling like the Dry was developing in Katherine last week.

That said, cyclones are possible in April.

Been plenty of those big red ones around the harbour too.

I Wonder if they're also opportunistic and make use of dropping water levels before there's no (good) water to breed in.

Was in the Gulf of Carp in 2006 mid April when Cyclone Monica came past. Tide came up 4 or 5 times and never went out  . Lucky it missed Darwin with the 7m tides.

And there were clear skies prior and Dragonflies keeping the Squitos down everywhere.
