SWA

Post by trent » Sat Jan 19, 2019 9:50 am

With the build up weather continuing and no monsoon in sight headed out to SWA, Gunn point road is mint and once they complete the 1st couple of km's and the last culvert crossing will make travelling out that way a breeze, picked up a couple of 70's for the afternoon and back home

Nice fish there mate

Yep.... Can't wait to see the last bit of the new bitumen sorted completely I drove home the other day and the boat was relatively clean just a tiny bit dusty from the SWA rd. Then I hit the last section of freshly topped up puddles from an afternoon storm on the detour giving the tinny the signature gunn pt red paint job in the last couple of km.

100% correct there, but it's not all good news though...

Especially when shady camp road closes shortly if we eventually get a decent effort on our monsoon rainfall one day soon. They'll all go from here instead with a couple of extra jerries on the deck then it'll be stuffed too.. .

FYI fellas ATM the SWA road is still OK.....

for now

But I'm not sure really how long it will last with this amount of traffic after it hits the social media like hete especially if someone nails some good fish out there soon.

But that's progress hey mate.... It's a bit of a pity that it'll bring a million more idiots out there too though and a lot more traffic from the beginners with their 6m plus boats unfortunately. The road out that way is already chewing up a bit already in a couple of bits after the storms of the last week despite the decent wetseason that we are missing out on.... :bonk:

Fortunately for those in the know it is a bit of a mission to work out when to fish each spot in this neck of the woods as it drains off some substantial amounts of acres which used to be productive zones every 20 minutes on its springs out that way so it will keep a few rookie crews guessing for a while as to what is the go with the area out there before they start getting a few decent fish nailed on their regular trips out that way. :D
