leaking injector pump

Post by john d »

Just noticed the injector pump on my old 80 series cruiser has sprung a leak.
Any recommendations as who can do a good rebuild or who has the best deals on a new pump and injectors.
The cruiser has over 400k on it and is a great tow vehicle but age is catching up with her.
trying to decide whether to give it a makeover or just replace it.

I got one on Ebay for $1350 from a company called Injector express , I also had the option to buy off a company called Diesel centre but they would only sell one if you done a change over . They were $1390 plus $500 and they would credit the $500 when the old pump was returned

Cheers Fitzy.
I also saw them on ebay at that price.
Tried to get a quote on one in town this morning and got prices up to $4k. :o :o
Stuff that.
Went home and tried to locate the leak and found the power steering return hose had rubbed thru and was spraying directly onto the pump.
Fixed for $10, Phew.
Dodged a bullet on this, one the old girl lives again.
