Mozzie spraying smashes barra

Post by Matt Flynn »

Story with possibly huge implications ... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-05/m ... wn/9390214

Darwin's Shoal Bay mozzie mitigation is/was managed to minimise effect on barra, but perhaps it does hurt 'em?

Selling bulk insecticides at hardware stores/supermarkets is wrong IMHO, they are hugely toxic to aquatic life. Public should be allowed to buy small spraycans.

Loss of terrestrial insects has already been noted n parts of the world, must have a flow-on effect to fish via both chemicals and loss of food.
