Tully Gorge

Post by Chriso »

I just had to try the Tully River in the beautiful Tully Gorge while travelling down the coast. And I wasn't disappointed. This would have to be one of the most beautiful places that I have ever fished. I know it's a cliche, but actually catching something was just a bonus.

Managed a nice Jungle Perch and a sootie - both on the same small surface popper.

Nice! Tully is one of those rivers you can just sit and look at. Lot of those NQ rivers out of the mountains are like that. Apparently the Koombooloomba Dam is crystal clear too, you can see the barra and sooties swimming around.

Wanted to get up to Koombaloomba with the kayak, but road works had blocked access while I was in the area.

Yep - river is spectacular though...
