Buzzdog's Flat Top marlin
Pic just sent in by Buzzdog from Flat Top Bank.
Great fish! Quite a big marlin by NT standards.
Unfortunately it died. Buzzdog plans to preserve the bill for posterity.

Think he said it took a small pusher. Fought for an hour. They tagged it and tried to swim it to freedom but no luck.
Lots of surface action, jumping etc.

Re: Buzzdog's Flat Top marlin
Did not even realise that Matt had posted these pics on here, thanks heaps for that Matt.
Yes the fish performed magnificently, as the line was tearing out the back the fish appeared on the surface 150 meters away to the front of the boat and as it went absolutely spare, you could hear the line rip through the water as it struggled to keep up with the fish.
I've compiled a vid of the Marlin capture, it actually turned out alright, enjoy.

In addition to the Marlin, we were also luckily enough to come across a pod of Dolphins, 50 - 100 strong. It was a surreal experience and one that I am grateful to have been a part of.....my mate and owner of the boat, James Campbell, decided to jump in and swim with the Dolphins and although they didn't get too close, they were close enough to her their squeaks and whistles....well that was until the sharks rocked up with a group of rather large Cobia...but that is another story.
Here is the compiled video of the Dolphin encounter.

It certainly was Matt and to make it all the more better, it was totally unexpected and we achieved it with all our own gear and on a recreational boat, nothing more satisfying to know that it was all your own efforts which attributed to such an amazing experience.Matt Flynn wrote:Trip of a lifetime Rob, lucky bloke!

Jerries for days Jimmy...hahahah!JimmyTaylor wrote:Awesome footage Buzzdog...... u guys love your jerry cans..... if only we could arrange a FAD to hold fuel out there..... sponsored by FFF
The boat had twin 180L tanks, we brough an addition 3 x 60L drums and 9 x 20L Jerries. At first it seemed like a lot of fuel, but after the big ass Red Emperor came over the side, the trip was paid for, the awesomeness that ensued was bonus points.
Great idea Jimmy.....Matt???

I try to put together what I can with the basic tools I have, it's not much but it's hobby.
