if you have a SJS SMART START CHARGER 12v jump-starter from Outnack Batteries be very careful.
I've used it a couple of times on the boat when there just wasn’t enough to fire things up and once for the car to jump start.
BUT
Ive been away for a mth and when I tried to start the car it was DEAD flat.
I hooked the jump starter up and followed the instructions. Waited a few minutes and when I tried to start the car, smoke poured out of the unit and it swelled up.
I jumped out and disconnected the starter asap.
The unit was hot and bulging.
So just a warning to anyone who has this unit. Be very careful
Big thankyou to Outback Batteries who replaced the battery (still under warranty) and the jump starter even though it was out of warranty. They said they have had a few returns and no longer carry this brand – for obvious reasons
