Sorry been slack. Here's a few assorted shots

Here's a bit of a late fishing/trip report from Sept school hols.
Not a great one for taking pictures but here are a few.
Had a few dramas coming into Archer Creek as rear strap had come loose not long after leaving Coen I reckon and I had a few cracks in Trailer. Gingerly did the Archer River to Weipa section very slowly, 5 hours nearly!!!!, just to ensure we made it. Got repaired at van site buy "Old Mate" who just happened to be a builder and off-road boat trailer builder extraordinaire. Cost was a carton of Great Northern. Gotta love the Beer Economy Also had a few bolts come out of exhaust and the old V8 hungy was sounding like an old Harley. Didn't get much offshore as too windy which also saw us not get to Mappon or Cullen Point. All in all over 140 Barra plus a few crabs and Finger Mark and Jacks and 20 plus assorted reef fish so not a bad return of 7 days fishing out of the 10 up there.
Didn't bother live baiting for barra as we were getting so many with the SP's and hard bodies, so just got livies for the reef. Really love the new Westin Platypus 120mm hard body and the 95mm suspending Jackal Squirrel caught that many Barra the arse end busted out of it
Great time with my son and a pretty good way to celebrate his 14th birthday.
Road ordinary from Musgrave on. Saw wheels, trailers, mudguards and cars hitting cows all on side of road.
Barra from 28cm to 72cms.
PDR is hard on trailers and an offroad version is best, however the the problem was the rear ratchet strap coming loose. Had tyre pressure, boat lightly packed, speed etc sorted. rectifying strap saw no problems on way home.
Just of interest, Old 100 series petrol guzzler averaged around 23/100L over trip. Dearest fuel we saw was archer river at $2.20!!!!. Coen, Musgrave etc was $1.59 from memory which I thought was pretty good. Really glad with the Hankook Dynapro ATM's. Had them around 2 years now without any issue with some hard driving included. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend as a cheaper option to the big 2 brands.

Sounds like a cracker trip, cheers for the follow up  A trip like that wouldn’t be complete without a few vehicle issues, having the right gear and/or people around sure makes a difference. Got amongst a few with the young fella as well :catch: . Happy days.
