G'day Guys,

Jordan here from Offshore Boats. Offshore Boats is a new boat hire business in Darwin that commenced operation in January 2017. Licensed to carry 6 passengers, our 250hp, 7.5m Stabicraft is the only hire boat in the NT licensed for hire up to 30 nautical miles offshore. This allows you to island hop up to 60 nautical miles. It is also the only hire boat in the NT licensed for overnight hire, sleeping 4 people comfortably.

As an introduction to FFF, we are pleased to present the below FFF Members Only Special.

FFF Members Only Special!
Book your boat hire with Offshore Boats in the month of September 2017 and we will knock a massive $100 off each day for single day and multi day bookings! This is the biggest sale we have offered to date!
Visit http://www.offshoreboats.com.au for hire rates and mention the promo code MEMBERSONLY at the time of booking to receive the discount.

Terms and conditions: Special is only available for boat hire in the month of September 2017.

If you have any questions about our vessel and/or operation, do not hesitate to post your query here, email us on info@offshoreboats.com.au or call on 0407 212 255.

G'day Hemi,

Thank you for your comments mate. We certainly don't wish to upset anybody. However, the deals in fact differ significantly.

In August, we had a special for multi day trips only in September. The multi day rates were reduced to $695 per day. This did not apply to single day trips and this deal has expired.

The $100 FFF Members Only Special applies to all bookings in September, including single day bookings. So single day hire is reduced from $795 to $695. Single day hire did not apply to the facebook special. In addition, the FFF Members Only Special includes $100 off for each and every day. So multi day trips are reduced to $695 day one, $645 day two and $595 day three. On a five day trip the discount for FFF Members is $500. For a 5 day trip on the facebook deal, the discount was only $150.

You are welcome to check our past facebook posts to confirm these facts and compare with the FFF special. If you think we need to change the fine print, please let me know.

We have never offered a discount on single day hire before. We want to give something back to the local fishing community and believe this deal is pretty good. The last thing we want to do is upset anybody Hemi. The business goal is to provide a safe, quality and well maintained vessel so all Territory Fishos can get out wide.

Have a great day mate.

Cheers, Jordan

Sounds like a fair deal . just wondering how much prep do you do with the guys that hire this rig .
I think its a massive risk just handing it over to a novice with cash. I'm sure you have done the homework and I,ve seen it out there so I hope business is good .

I have friends interested and they have basic boat skills, but off shore can be a whole new ball game .

Cheers
Jeff

Evening Jeff,

Thank you for your feedback mate and raising your questions. They are very valid points you have raised. We too agree that hiring it to just anybody or a novice with cash has some risk.

Our target market is experienced, local fisherpeople and boaters. Generally, people wishing to hire the vessel have quite extensive experience and many have professional quals. If we believe the hirer does not have sufficient experience at the time of booking, we suggest they hire a smaller boat from another operator or engage the services of one our qualified skippers to providing training throughout the day. This has been the case on a few occassions. Given the vessel is our livlihood, we do not hire it out to inexperienced operators. We have an in depth safety management plan in place, conduct all launching and retrieving, provide a thorough safety and operational briefing on morning of hire and provide a satphone in marine dock with 100% coverage whilst at sea. This ensures communication is available between the hirers and myself, coastguard, water police etc at all times in case of emergency or even just a simple query on a chartplotter setting.

Our safety managment plan is quite thorough so I won't go into too much more detail on the forum. However, another unique way we manage the risk is through monitoring the weather. If the wind or swell is due to pick up or a strom is due to hit, we offer all hirers the opportunity to reschedule for another date free of charge.

Thank you for your feedback mate. If you have any more queries, do not hesitate to contact us.

Cheers

Jordan

tohatsu is exactly the same as a honda outboard from 60hp - 250hp. great setup Jordan it's a good deal. as you can see some of us are harder to please than others but thanks for taking us locals in to consideration

Keep things positive, you are hiring a boat not buying it. Looks good
