My 55lb Minn Kota I-pilot at some stage has had some bark come off it near the prop / skeg, salt has obviously snuck in and corrosion is starting to lift the paint. I've seen this happen on other MKs and the corrosion works itself under the paint, eventually making the paint flake off.

Anyone had a similar experience with theirs and resolved the issue... And no I'm not buying a Motorguide.

I've been contemplating giving it a sand down and spray paint. Is there such a thing as "Minn Kota white" and a marine undercoat paint?

I asked IOM years ago, they said there's no specific paint to use. Mine needs a spray, so I'd be interested to see how you go mate
